Celebrating the heart, strength, and compassion of our community.
Women’s Philanthropy Society
Celebrating the caring spirit of women and their gifts of time, talent and treasure.
Philanthropy, simply defined, is the desire to promote the welfare of others. Founded in 2000, the Women’s Philanthropy Society formed under a simple idea – that anyone can be a philanthropist. By giving of themselves through gifts of time, talent and treasure, this prestigious and impactful group of women has continued to support the mission of their Society for over two decades, steadfastly continuing to better our community, our hospitals, and the communities they serve.
Throughout its history, this dedicated group of women has raised support for women’s and children’s related needs at Cabell Huntington Hospital and Hoops Family Children’s Hospital through many gifts such as specialty robes for mastectomy patients, pediatric-specific equipment, and funding for mammograms for uninsured and under-insured women.
As part of this mission, the Women’s Philanthropy Society presents three awards to outstanding women at an annual luncheon in the spring- the Focus Award, the Kitty Hage Lifetime Achievement Award and the Youth Service Award.
Our Mission
The Women’s Philanthropy Society was built on a simple, powerful belief: anyone can be a philanthropist. Our members give of themselves through gifts of time, talents, and treasures.
