Tax Credit

Tax Credit Available for WV Residents

YOU COULD LESSEN YOUR TAX BILL WHILE HELPING OTHERS!

When you donate to nonprofit organizations that provide childcare services to their employees, you could decrease your tax bill.

In 2022, the West Virginia Legislature approved an additional tax credit to the state tax code as an incentive for businesses and other organizations to provide childcare services for their employees. This was designed to attract more employers into the state or encourage them to remain in West Virginia. In the spring of 2024, these credits were fully implemented, and, since the credit is considered a donation to a nonprofit organization, it can be applied as such on your federal income tax return.

Recognizing a need to help its employees, Marshall Health Network opened childcare facilities on the campuses of Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center in August of 2023.
