Chef Marty’s Apple Sandwich Recipe!

Chef Marty uses this recipe to teach kids about healthy foods at his Huntington’s Kitchen. Here is his recipe for an apple sandwich!

Apple Sandwich

While an apple a day may not be guaranteed to keep the doctor away, this popular fruit is loaded with fiber, phytochemicals (trust me, those are good), and nutrients. Stick one apple ring around a filling of almond butter—a healthy alternative for those with a peanut allergy—and some tasty granola and top it with another apple ring. Presto! You have a sandwich for a king (or queen).

Ingredients

  • 1 apple cored and sliced into rings
  • Almond butter
  • Granola

Directions

Generously spread almond butter on one apple slice. Sprinkle granola over almond butter and top with another apple slice. Repeat.
