For the first time ever, supporters of the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital can tell the world about their support of quality children’s medical treatment with a specially branded West Virginia license plate. The cost per plate is $91.50 for the first year, with at least 100 plates needing to be purchased by April 15, 2024. If Hoops fails to submit at least 100 applications, the legislative authorization to issue the special plate expires and we must refund your money.

The initial application process is only to determine whether our organization has the minimum level of interest needed to pursue the design and manufacturing of this specialty plate. The vehicle on which a plate is displayed must be a class A (passenger car or truck of up to 10,000 pounds) vehicle and currently titled in West Virginia.

These plates will expire on July 1 of each year. There is a flat fee for the year or portion of the year of use, which will not be prorated according to length of use. Assuming this project moves ahead, the renewal fee will be $66.50 per year. All renewals will be processed by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Not only is the proposed Hoops design artistically pleasing, this special plate will go everywhere you travel: Myrtle Beach, the Outer Banks, Florida, the Rocky Mountains … the possibilities are endless! By purchasing one of these special plates, not only are you supporting the Children’s Hospital, you will be representing an organization of which you can be proud.
