Paul Smith

Paul English Smith is Vice President and General Counsel for Mountain Health Network. As a member of the system’s executive management team, he oversees the system’s legal, insurance and risk management programs and serves as project manager for a number of major transactions. Mr. Smith is a past president of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management.  He is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management. Since 2010, he has served as co-presenter for the “Legal and Regulatory Update,” given each year at the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management Annual Conference. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Smith is licensed to practice law in Virginia and West Virginia. He has over 37 years of experience as a practicing attorney as well as over 34 years in healthcare risk management.
