Mark Morgan

Vice Chair

Mark is a lifelong resident of the Huntington area and a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He achieved his CPA certification while working with Trainer, Wright & Paterno, where he served in the audit department. During his time at the firm, Mark oversaw a tremendous growth in audit revenues, through his emphasis on Not-for-Profits, Health Care and Benefit Plans. He expanded the services of the firm to include Interim Management of Corporations and served in the respective roles of Interim CEO/Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer and HR Director to various entities around the country. He also developed several seminars on not-for-profit accounting and government requirements along with a unique approach to the IRS and the rules affecting not-for-profits and its 990 Preparation.

He left public accounting in 2007 to become the Chief Administrative Officer with Ultimate Health Services, Inc. (HIMG), where he served as Interim CEO from April to November 2008. Subsequently, he was appointed as Chief Administrative and Financial Officer where he oversaw Billing, Finance, & Purchasing, Information Systems and Building and Grounds. During his tenure, the organization developed significant growth in physicians and business lines.

In September of 2020, HIMG was acquired by St. Mary’s Medical Center, and Mark was appointed COO of St. Mary’s HIMG, LLC. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the medical group. In May 2021, he was appointed Vice-President of Physicians Services for Mountain Health Network.

Mark is a former President of the State of West Virginia Medical Group Management Association and is a member of Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), West Virginia Society of CPAs and the Huntington Chapter of the West Virginia Society of CPAs.

Mark also serves on numerous community boards including the Mountwest Community & Technical College, Huntington Area Chamber of Commerce, HADCO, Wayne County Economic Development Authority, Keith Albee Performing Arts Center, St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, Advisory Board for the Lewis College of Business and Board of Directors for the Yeager Scholarship Program.

He currently resides in Barboursville, WV, with his wife Michelle and their son. Mark and Michelle also have two daughters and two grandchildren.
