About Reece
Isabella “Reece” is a beautiful and graceful young lady who defied the odds and amazed her doctors at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a tragic car accident that also claimed the life of her sister, Raelyn. Her sister Lainey was also in the accident but unharmed. After undergoing emergency brain surgery, her family prayed and waited to see if Reece would recover – not knowing what her future held. Those prayers were soon answered when Reece woke, spoke in full sentences and requested a milkshake from her doctor!
Reece’s road to recovery is one of resilience, faith and song. Carleigh Francis, Child Life Specialist at HFCH, recalling when Reece sang Mary, Did You Know? from her hospital bed, “she is just beautiful.” Reece and her family hope that by sharing their story, they can provide comfort and help to other families who have faced a tragedy. As a Hoops Ambassador, Reece is dedicated to raising awareness and support for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital.
